From the edge of Essex-London comes Maxfield. Conjuring up bassline frequencies any hip hop fan would be proud of, on the backdrops of squelching, searing and at times jagged, taut guitar licks, twisting synths and gritty skeletal funk all in one melting pot. Add breathtaking lyrics, rasping, melodic, vocals, that chews you up and spit you out with each story it tells, Maxfield are ELECTRO-ROCK with a TWIST.

As one reviewer said: "This band has a touch of Nirvanaesque going on, sprinkled with Lenny Kravits Meet Red Hot Chilli Peppers and oozing Asian Dub Foundation and The Specials, but with a female attitude, IT ROCKS" ****

With influences ranging from, i.e. Nirvana, Aerosmith, Primal Scream, Rod Stewart, Deep Purple, Eurythmics, The Police, The Jam, Metallica, The Specials, Dr Dre, Janice Joplin early Tina Turner, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Massive Attack, Joni Mitchell, Creed, Skunk Anansie, Portishead, Al Green, Betty Davis, Elle Fitzgerald, Deep Purple, Aretha Franklin, Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, ProdigyThe Cult, Patti Smith, & more, are all responsible for Maxfield ’s audio landscape, it’s just pure eclectic magic, BUT it's the knack to create an Individuality that sets Maxfield on a different par, leaders of their own style from those influences that’s brought them here. But we should let you decide.

Maxfield began when Singer/Songwriter Valerie Maxfield, began her quest to go Solo after fronting some the Uk’s top major bands, In between touring extensively, she laid the foundation by writing with various producers and with the later addition of Clive Jenner - drums, Adam Mackie – guitars, Tom Crofts -bass, and Lee Williams – engineer/ambience, completing the team and Maxfield was born.

2005 the buzz about Maxfield started to take shape, but just as their debut was looming, Valerie collapsed and fell into a coma. Her life hung in the balance, it was touch and go, and It was felt that she'd never survive, but a year on, she recovered, learned to walk, talk and sing again and finally making her debut 7th April 2006.
Since their LIVE debut Maxfield have been captivating audiences with their combustible energetic exuberance and sheer knack of writing their brilliant brand of Elecro Rock, gathering more and more fans along the way, as they play the odd gig and shine the odd bit of Maxfield-light into the hearts of those that come to see them perform. Most recently they’ve shared the stage, as support, with new sensations THE GUILLEMOTS, The Magic Numbers, Jackson Scott, Natalie Imbruglia, Piney Girs, Lucie Silva, SOHO DOLLS, Lefthand, Tim Arnold, Nuala, and Air Traffic, along their journey.

'From the first mind-bending chord of "Stucklike", Maxfield own the room. They're more than just accomplished musicians and this is more than just funk, though that is the template for their sound. The groovy stuff is mixed with big riffs and trippy effects, while Valerie commands this little space in style, rapping with gusto and singing wonderfully. Live, their songs move your ass, fill up your head and bring a smile to your chops, and you can't ask for more than that, now can you?’

Currently crafting more and more songs to complete their long awaited debut album, this year will see the emergence of Maxfield’s first debut single finally being released with their debut album to follow AND with radio airplay now giving way to some of their tracks, off the debut album, i.e. 'STRANGER', chosen for Vic McGlynn’s' SPARE ROOM show on Radio BBC 6, 'STUCKLIKE on Pulse Rated Radio, hitting their Top 10 Charts and as featured Pulserated’s artist of, its only a matter of time, the word gets out about this new band on the block.
